Your New Favourite Tea!

I love tea and like to try new teas when they catch my eye.

It's a little hobby of mine.

So my lasted new tea to try it this Yogi tea (Choco Aztec Spice). I was in a small health shop in Northern Ireland and this tea caught me attention. I knew I had to try it - it's got all the good stuff in it! Like cinnamon, coco, cardamon, ginger, vanilla (verrrry tasty). Those are the main ingredients and I thought it could be a healthy alternative to hot chocolate.
You just add some regular or soya milk to it and if you're feeling nuaghty, some honey or sugar. I must say I really like it. It's like a spiced-up version of hot chocolate but still tastes very much like tea and has a lovely soft and mellow flavour.
I'd say it is worth a shot if you're a bit of a tea connoisseur.

Bargains of the week

I had a snoot around my local charity shops yesterday....

These beautiful glasses and matching jug where a great bargain! I found this set in one of my local charity shops in there box and look like they have never been used! could not believe it, another shocking thing was the price! £3 at first I thought they had put the wrong label on the box but I didn't query it just paid and got out as quick as I could in case they changed there mind!

Id say that they maybe come from 70s don't know for sure. I love birds so I think I was meant to find this bargain and have settled in quite nice with my other glass ware.

Heading out for a taste of what Belfast has to offer my stomach!

A casual meal out with some close friend calls for a casual outfit!

Tonight, we headed to a popular Chinese restaurant (Steamboat Oriental BBQ) for some pretty tasty food. The jeans are a new purchase from eBay. They're a bit roomier around the leg than I normally buy - it means they're extremely comfy, and allow a slightly different look. Anyone who knows me, knows I don't wear jeans that often. However, Winter has meant I have opted for a trouser over dresses, skirts and shorts more often than not. As Spring approaches, hopefully this will change very shortly. Regardless, I am loving these jeans at the moment.

The jeans were a complete bargain as they are genuine vintage. I got them for just £14. The cardigan is the same one from my 'blustery day outfit' that you can find a few posts ago - it's so warm and cosy, that I've been wearing it with  almost every outfit. Perfect layer of protection against the British weather we have.

The top is originally form Warehouse but I got it from a very kind friend at a swishing party I was hosting it is gorgeous with all the all the cut out detail and mid neck length, very Audrey Hepburn.

And finally, these fabulous flat leather woven shoes were from the Urban Outfitters in the SALE. I bought them last Summer for £20, down from £45!

Nothing wrong with a bit of sparkle in your life...

This little gem of a necklace was brought for my 20th Birthday with matching earrings, I don't like to wear them both together because  I don't think I can pull  that off! It's a lovely clear water blue necklace from the 1920's and looks great for its age.

PS - They're not real diamonds but no-one needs to know about that!

Vintage Antique Writing Bureau

This antique writing bureau is definitely one of my best best purchases to date.

It's a lovely, warm mahogany colour with decorative original  knobs. For something that is likely 1940's or 1950's it's in remarkable condition (all of the wood is unmarked, the original leather writing pad is still inside and rarely enough it even has its key). It's full of character, and I am much more attracted to pieces of furniture that have their own story - this is just how I like things in my home.

I got this lovely bureau at my local auction house but  i wasn't going to bid on this because  it looked like it would cost to much but the auctioneer came to the bureau number no one was bidding. I couldn't believe it, so put in a cheeky bid and got it for £32 pounds plus commission!

I've been the auction a few times since I bought it and while there have been some other bureaus that have come through, they haven't had the same amount of character as this one and they have ended up going for in excess of £100... which in comparison seems a little much.

I went to the same auction before Christmas and I think that is why I got it so cheaply. it's all about timing and who's there on the day with auctions and that's what I like about them.

Outfit for a blustery day...

While February is a dark and blustery month, it's just as important as any other time of the year to look good when you go out. The key thing to remember is to think practical when choosing your outfit.

That means coats, cardigans, scarves and hats are the order of the day.

Here's my outfit...

The big cardigan is from Miss Selfridge by way of eBay and was about £7. It's extremely cosy and ties in with the pre-Spring colours in the rest of the outfit - it's perfect for one of those days.

Sensible, stylish boots from TopShop to keep my feet warm (because my feet turn to icicles over Winter) and plain black tights are perfect to have in your wardrobe at this time of year - they go with anything and keep you that little bit warmer.

I like to layer-up when I can and these colours and patterns are a pretty good mix, I think. The scarf is another charity shop find When everything matches it can be a bit too much, but these are a bit different and do the job.

The bag was £4.50 from a local charity shop and I have a sneaking suspicion it belonged to a little old lady at one point, which would be charming. It's nice and compact and over these Winter months it's been my go-to bag. There is very little it doesn't go with.

Cosy, layered and  warm colours, you cannot go wrong for a blustery day!

Vintage Disney Necklace: Why would anyone want to give this away?

This Swallow themed Disney necklace is my latest charity shop find. There is some amazing Disney jewellery out there and there is also a lot of rubbish - this is undoubtedly one of the better pieces I have seen.

In Disney, I think you could easily pay upwards of £15 for such a nice necklace, and what did I get this for... just £2.00! I couldn't believe it and basically snatched it out of the charity shop owner's hands as fast as I could. As an added bonus, it is apparently "made with care from Wonderland" and it fits in rather nicely with a number of my vintage outfits.
